Central Islip Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

Detectives with the Suffolk County SPCA charged a Central Islip man with animal cruelty on Sunday, September 30th, 2018.

Jacques Henri, 72, was charged with neglecting his two dogs, Blue, a 2-year-old female pit bull and King, a 1-year-old male pit bull, that were confined in a rear yard where there was no shelter or water present.  The 2-year-old was underweight and ultimately found have been caused by malnutrition. The 1 years old was found tethered to a fence for more than 1 hour on a 2-foot tether with open sores on his ears. 

Henri, is scheduled to appear in 1st District Court on 12/5/2018

Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County.  If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.

A criminal charge is an accusation.  A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
