Suffolk County SPCA Detectives Charge A Wyandanch Woman With Animal Cruelty

The Suffolk County SPCA has charged a Wyandanch woman for Animal Cruelty  on May 14, 2017 for neglecting and abandoning a 2 year old female Shitzu. On April 14, 2017 Suffolk County SPCA received a tip that a dog was found in a crate along Sunrise Highway in Babylon. After weeks of investigation , Yvette O’Connor, 39, was charged with 2 counts of animal cruelty and abandonment.  O’Connor will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on  July17th, 2017.


Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.

A criminal charge is an accusation.  A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
